What it is for
Glassware is for evenings and occasions: a whisky glass for a retirement, a pint glass for a birthday, a set for a wedding.
On clear glass there is no white background behind the print; very pale colours almost disappear.
Dye sublimation
Sublimation prints the design onto transfer paper with dye ink; heat then turns the dye into a gas that bonds into a polyester coating or polyester fibre.
Colour becomes part of the surface rather than a layer on top, so it is vivid and does not crack or peel. It cannot print white: white in a design shows as the colour of the item itself, which is why sublimated items are white or pale.
There is no texture at all — on fabric you cannot feel the print, and on a mug it is under a smooth coating.
Designs that suit it
Glass suits line work, monograms, names and dates. Light shows through it, so clean single-tone designs read better than photographs.
The print area is on the front: 2,733 × 1,238 pixels, about 9.1 × 4.1 in at 300 dpi — a wide, landscape area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Full-colour photographs, paintings and edge-to-edge patterns. Less suited: designs that rely on white ink, and important detail right at seams, handles or edges where the transfer wraps.

Before you order
How long does the Mixing Glass, 16oz take to arrive?
To Canada, 10–30 business days, with first-item shipping at $22.59 CAD; to the US, 2–5 business days ($13.55 CAD). It is printed to order in North Mankato, MN, United States, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Mixing Glass, 16oz?
Yes. Sublimation reproduces photographs in full colour with no texture. White areas print as the item's own colour, so a photo with a white background blends into it. The print file is 2733 × 1238 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
When should I order the Mixing Glass, 16oz for Christmas?
With standard shipping, by November 13 to Canada and December 18 to the US. Those dates count this product's longest delivery window back from December 25 in business days. Express shipping at checkout, where it is offered, shortens the window.
How do I look after the Mixing Glass, 16oz?
It is sublimation-printed, and that sets the care. Wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low. No bleach; the colour is in the fibre, so it will not crack.
