What we print, and what we won’t.
Most gifts sail through. This page is for the edges: other people's work, other people's faces, and the few things we decline outright.
What we print
Personal gifts: names, dates, places, inside jokes, pets, family photos you took, art you made or have rights to, your company’s own logo. Humour, including the slightly rude kind between adults who know each other.
What we don’t
- Copyrighted characters, logos, lyrics, team marks or artwork you don’t hold the rights to. “It’s just for my dad” doesn’t change who owns it.
- Hate, harassment or threats against a person or group. Slurs of any kind.
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, including suggestive. Reported where the law requires.
- Explicit sexual content on products intended for children, or in public-facing business orders.
- Private information about a third party: addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers, medical details.
- Content that impersonates a real person or organisation in a way meant to deceive.
- Instructions for weapons, drugs or self-harm.
Other people’s work
The AI designs from your description and your uploads. If you upload someone else’s illustration or ask for a named brand or character, we’ll stop and tell you why. If you hold a licence, write to us with it before ordering and we’ll clear the design.
Rights holders can report a design at ip@makevessim.com. We respond within two business days and remove infringing orders that haven’t printed.
Photos of people
You can upload photos of people you know for personal gifts, and we assume you have their okay. For a photo of a stranger, a public figure, or anything that could embarrass the subject, we may ask for consent or decline.
We never use your photos to train models, and we delete uploaded photos 90 days after the order ships (see Privacy).
How review works
Every design passes an automated check before it reaches a print partner. Flagged designs go to a person, usually within a few hours. If we decline, we say which rule applied and offer a redesign that avoids it. Declined orders are refunded in full.
Appeals
Think we got it wrong? Reply to the decision email or write to appeals@makevessim.com with the order ID. A different reviewer looks at it within two business days.
