Changelog

What changed, including what was wrong.

Vessim is early and it moves quickly. This is the customer-facing record of both — and the entries marked Fixed are here on purpose.

  1. Fixed

The product count was wrong, and it was too high

The site said 2,800+ products. It was counting our supplier's entire blueprint catalogue, not the products we have actually priced, classified and built pages for — and nothing on the site could reach a product outside that smaller set. The real number is 1,997, so the site now says 1,900+. Every departmental count was inflated the same way and has been recomputed. The figure is now derived from the catalogue itself rather than written down, so it cannot drift again.

Rule one: every number is countable
  2. Shipped

Nineteen hundred more products, with real pages

The catalogue went from 198 hand-curated products to 1,997, each with its own page: live costs from the cheapest capable print partner, size and colour options, printing technique, and a description rewritten from the supplier's copy rather than pasted from it. No partner or manufacturer name appears anywhere — not in the page, not in the data it ships, not in the URL.

  3. Changed

The home page got bigger and brighter

The hero now runs eighteen beams across two crossing angles instead of ten parallel ones, at roughly half as much height again. The two sections below it were rebuilt: the numbers now draw what they count, and the dashboard demo runs a single job end to end — sentence, three designs, one chosen, on the object, in the orders list — instead of showing empty placeholder tiles.

  4. Shipped

Thirty more pages, and a footer that reaches them

Acceptable use, IP and copyright, notice and takedown, returns and shipping policies, sub-processors, data requests and an imprint. Payment methods, print quality, cancellations and gift-card help. Volume pricing, reseller terms, procurement and a walkthrough of a forty-person run. Plus print partners, design principles, security and this page.

    vesim.shop opened

A second front door: describe what you want in plain English and it searches a catalogue of about sixty thousand products, applies your price ceiling as a gate rather than a hint, and ranks what is actually in stock near you. Separate account from makevessim.com by design.

  6. Changed

The application moved out of the marketing site

Everything you sign in to now lives under /app with its own shell — dashboard, studio, orders, designs, people, moments, circles, wallet, wishlist and settings. Old /account and /create links redirect permanently, so nothing you bookmarked is broken.

  7. Fixed

Generated imagery was removed from the site

We generated a set of hero and section images and they were poor — soft, artefacted and heavy. Rather than ship them, everything that glows on this site is now drawn in CSS and SVG. It is crisp at any zoom level, costs nothing to download, and it moves.

  8. Fixed

    Layout shift on phones fixed

The hero panel was discovering its height as the demo painted, shifting everything below it — a cumulative layout shift of 0.29 on a phone, which is bad. The space it needs is now reserved before it is filled, and the measured shift is zero.

  9. Shipped

    Circles, reveal and recipient's choice

Secret Santa, white elephant, group gifts, signed cards, matching sets and merch drops, with chip-in pots and a participant link that needs no account. A gift can arrive as a reveal page, and you can send a choice instead of an object.

Gift cards, store credit and referrals

Gift cards that can be scheduled for a date, never expire and carry no fee. Store credit and gift-card balances now apply automatically at checkout, before the card.

    The gallery and creator shops

A moderated public gallery of designs people chose to share, with a working remix link that opens the same prompt in the studio. Creators can claim a handle and keep a shop page. Nothing in the gallery is seeded — if it is empty, it is empty.

  12. Fixed

    Invented social proof removed

An earlier build carried placeholder reviews and a product rating that was not based on anything. Both are gone, along with the rating sort that depended on them. There is no fake social proof anywhere on this site now, and there will not be.

  13. Shipped

The studio, the catalogue and ordering

Three designs from one sentence on any product in the catalogue, free unlimited redesigns before you order, delivery estimates by postal code with holiday cutoffs, and tracking to the door. Accessibility was taken from 102 findings to zero serious or critical across 37 routes. (This entry originally claimed "about 2,700 products"; see 21 October — that number was the supplier's catalogue size, not ours.)

Why fixes are listed

A changelog with no mistakes in it is a marketing page with dates on it. Ours includes the layout shift on phones, the invented ratings and the generated imagery we threw away, because those are the entries that tell you what happens when something here goes wrong. The rules we hold the site to are on design principles.
