We design it. Someone near you makes it.
Vessim does not own a press. Every physical item is made by an independent print partner, chosen for the product and the destination rather than for the margin.

Why we do not own a press
A company that owns one factory sells what that factory makes. It is the quiet reason most personalised-gift sites offer a mug, a tee and a canvas: those are the three things the machine in the back does well, and the catalogue is a description of the equipment rather than of what anyone wanted.
Working through a partner network inverts that. We can offer 2,600+ products because we are not paying for any of the machines, and we can route a Canadian order to a Canadian press without having built one. The trade is that we control the design and the routing but not the shop floor — which is why the reprint promise is unconditional. If a partner has a bad day, that is our problem to absorb, not yours to argue about.
Where printing happens
The catalogue is produced across 10 countries: United States, Germany, Latvia, China, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Canada, Czechia, Australia, IN.
That list is read out of the live catalogue at build time rather than typed into this page, so it cannot drift from what is actually true. The overwhelming majority of North American orders print in the United States or Canada; the European and Asian facilities exist because a handful of specialist products — certain engraved and all-over-printed items — are made nowhere else.
How an order is routed
Four things decide which partner gets the job, in this order:
- Can they make it at all? Not every partner carries every blank in every size and colour.
- How far is the recipient? Nearest wins, because transit time is the biggest part of the wait and the biggest part of the footprint.
- Is it in the destination country? Printing inside the border removes duties, brokerage and a customs queue entirely.
- Are they on time right now? A partner running late is skipped in favour of a slightly more distant one that is not.
Price is not in that list. We are not routed to whoever is cheapest this week, and a split order — two items from one checkout made in two countries — ships as two parcels rather than being consolidated somewhere and flown.
What a partner is given
The recipient’s name and address, and the design file. Nothing else: no email address, no payment details, and no price, which is why a gift arrives with a packing slip that cannot embarrass anyone. Partners are sub-processors under our privacy policy and are listed as such on sub-processors. They may not contact a recipient or reuse an address.
Quality, and what we can promise
A partner is held to the delivery window they publish and to the print standard set out on print quality. Claims are tracked per partner, and a facility with a rising fault rate loses routing before it loses the relationship.
We are not going to claim an audit programme we do not run. Vessim is early, the honest description is that we watch the outcome of every order rather than inspecting the floor, and when that changes this page will say so.
The footprint
Made-to-order means nothing is printed that nobody bought, which removes the largest waste stream in merchandise — unsold stock. Printing near the recipient removes most of the second. Neither makes a printed hoodie a low-impact object, and sustainability is where we say what is and is not true about that.
Becoming a partner
Facilities that want to take Vessim volume should write to hello@makevessim.com with capabilities, locations and lead times. We are most interested in capacity in Canada and in techniques the network is thin on — engraving, ceramics and anything in a size the big networks will not hold.
If you can imagine it, we can create it.
Anything, designed from a sentence, printed by a partner near you, shipped to the door.
