What it is for
A poster is the simplest way to put a picture on a wall at a real size. Paper is also the surface that holds fine detail best.
Print resolution matters most here. A design generated at the print size, as ours are, stays sharp at arm's length.
Digital printing
Digital printing is high-resolution inkjet: pigment ink is laid onto paper, canvas, card or a label in fine dots.
It has the widest colour range of any method here, and the finest detail, which is why it is used for art prints.
The finish depends on the stock — matte, satin or gloss — not on the ink.
Designs that suit it
Anything you would frame: a photograph, a map of a place, a painting-style scene, a typographic print. Portrait or landscape to match where it will hang.
The print area is on the front: 2,100 × 1,500 pixels, about 7.0 × 5.0 in at 300 dpi — a wide, landscape area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, paintings, maps and fine type. Less suited: very large flat areas of a single dark colour on matte stock, which can show slight banding up close.
Sentences that would suit it
“Fireworks over the river, the night we met”
Fireworks at Ryōgoku, Utagawa Hiroshige, 1858. Public domain. Shown on our example vertical framed poster.
“A badge for our dog Biscuit, member since 2020”
Example design by Vessim. Shown on our example vertical framed poster.
“A woman at her craft, for my daughter's first studio”
Sculptress, Eugène Grasset, 1897. Public domain. Shown on our example vertical framed poster.
Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.
Where it is printed, and when it arrives
It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, then shipped: 5–15 business days to Canada ($18.07 CAD for the first item) and 2–5 business days to the US ($13.69 CAD). Each window counts from the day the order is placed and includes printing.
Printed in North America, so it ships without an overseas leg and no import duties apply within North America.
To arrive by Christmas 2026 with standard shipping, order by December 4 for Canada and December 18 for the US — that is the Rolled Posters's own longest window counted back from December 25.
How it compares with our other posters
- Of the 19 posters in the catalogue, none costs less than this one and 16 cost more.
- Its longest delivery time to Canada, 15 business days, is the same as the family's median of 15; 1 other poster arrives sooner.

Before you order
How long does the Rolled Posters take to arrive?
To Canada, 5–15 business days, with first-item shipping at $18.07 CAD; to the US, 2–5 business days ($13.69 CAD). It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Rolled Posters?
Yes. Digital printing is the best method here for photographs: the widest colour range and the finest detail. The print file is 2100 × 1500 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
