What it is for
A poster is the simplest way to put a picture on a wall at a real size. Paper is also the surface that holds fine detail best.
Print resolution matters most here. A design generated at the print size, as ours are, stays sharp at arm's length.
Digital printing
Digital printing is high-resolution inkjet: pigment ink is laid onto paper, canvas, card or a label in fine dots.
It has the widest colour range of any method here, and the finest detail, which is why it is used for art prints.
The finish depends on the stock — matte, satin or gloss — not on the ink.
Designs that suit it
Anything you would frame: a photograph, a map of a place, a painting-style scene, a typographic print. Portrait or landscape to match where it will hang.
The print area is on the front: 3,510 × 4,950 pixels, about 11.7 × 16.5 in at 300 dpi — a tall, portrait area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, paintings, maps and fine type. Less suited: very large flat areas of a single dark colour on matte stock, which can show slight banding up close.
Sentences that would suit it
“The lily pond at the garden where we got married”
Water Lilies, Claude Monet, 1906. Public domain. Shown on our example matte vertical posters.
“'But first, coffee' for the friend who can't speak before 9”
Example design by Vessim. Shown on our example matte vertical posters.
“A sunny Copenhagen café poster for our trip anniversary”
Poster for an Exhibition of Artistic Posters, Paul Fischer, c. 1895. Public domain. Shown on our example vertical framed poster.
Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.
Where it is printed, and when it arrives
It is printed to order in Prague, Czechia, then shipped: 5–15 business days to Canada ($18.07 CAD for the first item) and 5–15 business days to the US ($33.14 CAD). Each window counts from the day the order is placed and includes printing.
Because it is printed outside North America, import duties or taxes may apply on arrival.
To arrive by Christmas 2026 with standard shipping, order by December 4 for Canada and December 4 for the US — that is the Posters (EU)'s own longest window counted back from December 25.
How it compares with our other posters
- Of the 19 posters in the catalogue, 8 cost less and 10 cost more.
- Its longest delivery time to Canada, 15 business days, is the same as the family's median of 15; 1 other poster arrives sooner.
- 13 of the 19 are printed in North America; this one is printed in Czechia.

Before you order
How long does the Posters (EU) take to arrive?
To Canada, 5–15 business days, with first-item shipping at $18.07 CAD; to the US, 5–15 business days ($33.14 CAD). It is printed to order in Prague, Czechia, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Posters (EU)?
Yes. Digital printing is the best method here for photographs: the widest colour range and the finest detail. The print file is 3510 × 4950 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
What sizes does the Posters (EU) come in?
8 sizes: 8.3" x 11.7", 11.7" x 16.5", 11.7" x 8.3", 16.5" x 23.4", 16.5" x 11.7", 23.4" x 33.1", 23.4" x 16.5", 33.1" x 23.4".
When should I order the Posters (EU) for Christmas?
With standard shipping, by December 4 to Canada and December 4 to the US. Those dates count this product's longest delivery window back from December 25 in business days. Express shipping at checkout, where it is offered, shortens the window.
How do I look after the Posters (EU)?
It is digitally printed, and that sets the care. Keep away from damp and long periods of direct sun. Dust with a dry, soft cloth; no liquids on the print.
