What it is for
Acrylic, metal and wood prints, tapestries and clocks are wall pieces with a finish of their own.
Finish affects colour more than on paper; a design with strong contrast holds up best.
UV printing
UV printing jets ink onto the surface and cures it instantly with ultraviolet light, which lets it print directly on rigid and coated materials.
Colour is dense and edges are sharp. On clear or coloured materials a white layer can be laid under the colour so it does not look washed out.
The ink sits on the surface with a very slight raised texture.
Designs that suit it
Bold images with clear contrast. Glossy and metallic finishes deepen colour; fabric softens it.
The print area is on the front: 2,081 × 1,481 pixels, about 6.9 × 4.9 in at 300 dpi — a wide, landscape area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, sharp graphics and type on hard surfaces. Less suited: very thin lines on textured surfaces, where the ink follows the grain.
Sentences that would suit it
“Our initials and wedding date, elegant, gold and green”
Example design by Vessim. Shown on our example acrylic prints (french cleat hanging).
“Birds stealing strawberries, a pattern for Grandma's cushions”
Strawberry Thief, William Morris, designed 1883. Public domain. Shown on our example indoor wall tapestry.
“A family crest with our surname and the year we married”
Example design by Vessim. Shown on our example acrylic prints (french cleat hanging).
Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.
