What it is for
Stickers and magnets are cheap, collectable and stuck to laptops, fridges and cars for years.
Die-cut and kiss-cut shapes follow the outline of the design; a clean edge looks best.
Digital printing
Digital printing is high-resolution inkjet: pigment ink is laid onto paper, canvas, card or a label in fine dots.
It has the widest colour range of any method here, and the finest detail, which is why it is used for art prints.
The finish depends on the stock — matte, satin or gloss — not on the ink.
Designs that suit it
Strong silhouettes with a clear outline. Small text disappears at sticker size.
The print area is on the front: 5,400 × 3,600 pixels, about 18.0 × 12.0 in at 300 dpi — a wide, landscape area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, paintings, maps and fine type. Less suited: very large flat areas of a single dark colour on matte stock, which can show slight banding up close.
Sentences that would suit it
“A full moon over the bay from our holiday room”
The Moon-Viewing Promontory, Utagawa Hiroshige, 1857. Public domain. Shown on our example matte vertical posters.
“Decorative Art Nouveau flowers for my sister who loves Mucha”
Plate 38, from Documents Décoratifs, Alphonse Mucha, 1902. Public domain. Shown on our example matte vertical posters.
“A home quote with our family name for the new house”
Example design by Vessim. Shown on our example matte vertical posters.
Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.
