What it is for
Acrylic, metal and wood prints, tapestries and clocks are wall pieces with a finish of their own.
Finish affects colour more than on paper; a design with strong contrast holds up best.
UV printing
UV printing jets ink onto the surface and cures it instantly with ultraviolet light, which lets it print directly on rigid and coated materials.
Colour is dense and edges are sharp. On clear or coloured materials a white layer can be laid under the colour so it does not look washed out.
The ink sits on the surface with a very slight raised texture.
Designs that suit it
Bold images with clear contrast. Glossy and metallic finishes deepen colour; fabric softens it.
The print area is on the front: 1,481 × 2,081 pixels, about 4.9 × 6.9 in at 300 dpi — a tall, portrait area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, sharp graphics and type on hard surfaces. Less suited: very thin lines on textured surfaces, where the ink follows the grain.
Sentences that would suit it
“A family crest with our surname and the year we married”
Example design by Vessim. Shown on our example acrylic prints (french cleat hanging).
“The river at night where we got engaged, stars over the water”
Starry Night Over the Rhône, Vincent van Gogh, 1888. Public domain. Shown on our example acrylic prints (french cleat hanging).
“Blossom on a blue sky for my sister's new baby”
Almond Blossom, Vincent van Gogh, 1890. Public domain. Shown on our example indoor wall tapestry.
Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.
