What it is for
Socks are the low-stakes gift that gets worn constantly. A printed pair with a face, a pet or a pattern is a reliable laugh.
The design is printed flat and then stretches on the foot, so lines look thinner when worn.
Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing
Direct-to-garment printing works like an inkjet printer for fabric: water-based ink is sprayed into the fibres and cured with heat.
It prints full colour in one pass, so a photograph or a gradient costs the same as a single word. On dark fabric a white base layer goes down first so the colours stay true.
On light fabric the print is barely felt; over a white base on dark fabric it is slightly firmer, like a soft film.
Designs that suit it
Small repeating motifs read best. A single face or object can work, but it stretches over the heel and shin when worn.
The print area is on the right leg: 3,150 × 5,848 pixels, about 10.5 × 19.5 in at 300 dpi — a tall, portrait area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, paintings, detailed illustration and small type all hold. Less suited: very fine hairlines and large solid blocks of colour on dark fabric, where the base layer is most noticeable.

Where it is printed, and when it arrives
It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, then shipped: 5–15 business days to Canada ($26.70 CAD for the first item) and 2–5 business days to the US ($7.25 CAD). Each window counts from the day the order is placed and includes printing.
Printed in North America, so it ships without an overseas leg and no import duties apply within North America.
To arrive by Christmas 2026 with standard shipping, order by December 4 for Canada and December 18 for the US — that is the Recycled Poly Socks's own longest window counted back from December 25.
How it compares with our other socks
- Of the 8 socks in the catalogue, 3 cost less and 3 cost more.
- Its longest delivery time to Canada, 15 business days, is the same as the family's median of 15; 1 other pair of socks arrives sooner.
- 5 of the 8 are printed in North America, this one included.

Before you order
How long does the Recycled Poly Socks take to arrive?
To Canada, 5–15 business days, with first-item shipping at $26.70 CAD; to the US, 2–5 business days ($7.25 CAD). It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Recycled Poly Socks?
Yes. DTG prints in full colour from the image file, so photographs and paintings reproduce well; they look best on high-cotton fabric. The print file is 3150 × 5848 pixels on the right leg, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
When should I order the Recycled Poly Socks for Christmas?
With standard shipping, by December 4 to Canada and December 18 to the US. Those dates count this product's longest delivery window back from December 25 in business days. Express shipping at checkout, where it is offered, shortens the window.
How do I look after the Recycled Poly Socks?
It is DTG-printed, and that sets the care. Wash inside out in cold water. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not iron directly over the print. No bleach or fabric softener on the printed area.
