What it is for
A T-shirt is the most-worn thing anyone owns, which makes it the gift most likely to be seen. It is also the most forgiving to design for: a flat, generous front panel and a fabric that takes ink well.
Fit varies more between T-shirt cuts than between brands of mug; if the person has a shirt they wear constantly, measure that one against the size guide.
Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing
Direct-to-garment printing works like an inkjet printer for fabric: water-based ink is sprayed into the fibres and cured with heat.
It prints full colour in one pass, so a photograph or a gradient costs the same as a single word. On dark fabric a white base layer goes down first so the colours stay true.
On light fabric the print is barely felt; over a white base on dark fabric it is slightly firmer, like a soft film.
Designs that suit it
A single image centred on the chest, a short line of type, or a photo treated as a print all read well from across a room. Keep anything important out of the armpit seams and the bottom few centimetres, which fold out of sight when it is tucked or worn.
The print area is on the front: 3,600 × 4,200 pixels, about 12.0 × 14.0 in at 300 dpi — a roughly square area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, paintings, detailed illustration and small type all hold. Less suited: very fine hairlines and large solid blocks of colour on dark fabric, where the base layer is most noticeable.

Before you order
How long does the Men's Gold Soft Touch T-Shirt take to arrive?
To Canada, 10–30 business days, with first-item shipping at $13.28 CAD; to the US, 2–5 business days ($6.15 CAD). It is printed to order in Monroe, NC, United States, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Men's Gold Soft Touch T-Shirt?
Yes. DTG prints in full colour from the image file, so photographs and paintings reproduce well; they look best on high-cotton fabric. The print file is 3600 × 4200 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
What sizes and colours does the Men's Gold Soft Touch T-Shirt come in?
10 sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL. 35 colours, including Athletic Grey, Azalea, Black, Cardinal Red, Carolina Blue, Charcoal, Chocolate, Dark Heather. The size guide has measurements for each.
When should I order the Men's Gold Soft Touch T-Shirt for Christmas?
With standard shipping, by November 13 to Canada and December 18 to the US. Those dates count this product's longest delivery window back from December 25 in business days. Express shipping at checkout, where it is offered, shortens the window.
How do I look after the Men's Gold Soft Touch T-Shirt?
It is DTG-printed, and that sets the care. Wash inside out in cold water. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not iron directly over the print. No bleach or fabric softener on the printed area.
