What it is for
A journal or notebook is a gift for what comes next — a new job, a trip, a year at school.
Inside pages are lined, blank or dotted depending on the product; the options below say which.
Digital printing
Digital printing is high-resolution inkjet: pigment ink is laid onto paper, canvas, card or a label in fine dots.
It has the widest colour range of any method here, and the finest detail, which is why it is used for art prints.
The finish depends on the stock — matte, satin or gloss — not on the ink.
Designs that suit it
The cover is the print area. A title, a name and a single image read like a book jacket.
The print area is on the front: 3,742 × 2,625 pixels, about 12.5 × 8.8 in at 300 dpi — a wide, landscape area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, paintings, maps and fine type. Less suited: very large flat areas of a single dark colour on matte stock, which can show slight banding up close.
Sentences that would suit it
“A thank-you for my daughter's teacher at the end of the year”
Example design by Vessim. Shown on our example softcover notebook, a5.
“Art Nouveau poppies in coral and gold”
Oriental Poppies, from Documents Décoratifs, Alphonse Mucha, 1902. Public domain. Shown on our example hardcover journal matte (lined).
“A hiker above the clouds, for my brother's first summit”
Wanderer above the Sea of Fog, Caspar David Friedrich, c. 1818. Public domain. Shown on our example softcover notebook, a5.
Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.
Where it is printed, and when it arrives
It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, then shipped: 5–15 business days to Canada ($17.25 CAD for the first item) and 2–5 business days to the US ($7.52 CAD). Each window counts from the day the order is placed and includes printing.
Printed in North America, so it ships without an overseas leg and no import duties apply within North America.
To arrive by Christmas 2026 with standard shipping, order by December 4 for Canada and December 18 for the US — that is the Journal - Blank's own longest window counted back from December 25.
How it compares with our other journals and notebooks
- Of the 15 journals and notebooks in the catalogue, 9 cost less and 3 cost more.
- Its longest delivery time to Canada, 15 business days, is the same as the family's median of 15; no other journals and notebooks arrive sooner.
- 11 of the 15 are printed in North America, this one included.

Before you order
How long does the Journal - Blank take to arrive?
To Canada, 5–15 business days, with first-item shipping at $17.25 CAD; to the US, 2–5 business days ($7.52 CAD). It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Journal - Blank?
Yes. Digital printing is the best method here for photographs: the widest colour range and the finest detail. The print file is 3742 × 2625 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
When should I order the Journal - Blank for Christmas?
With standard shipping, by December 4 to Canada and December 18 to the US. Those dates count this product's longest delivery window back from December 25 in business days. Express shipping at checkout, where it is offered, shortens the window.
How do I look after the Journal - Blank?
It is digitally printed, and that sets the care. Keep away from damp and long periods of direct sun. Dust with a dry, soft cloth; no liquids on the print.
