What it is for
A backpack, duffel or pouch is a working object: it gets packed, thrown in a car and taken on trips.
Look at the print area below — on a bag it is often a single front panel, not the whole surface.
Embroidery
Embroidery stitches the design in polyester thread. The artwork is converted into stitch paths, one thread colour at a time.
Colours are thread colours — a limited set, typically up to around a dozen in one design — so gradients and photographs cannot be reproduced.
The design is raised and textured, and it outlasts any ink: it will not crack, peel or fade in the wash.
Designs that suit it
Panels on structured bags are interrupted by zips and straps; a pattern or a mark sized to one panel works better than one large picture.
The print area is on the front: 1,181 × 1,181 pixels, about 3.9 × 3.9 in at 300 dpi — a roughly square area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Monograms, initials, short words, simple logos and bold shapes. Less suited: photographs, gradients and lettering smaller than about 5 mm tall, which closes up in thread.
Sentences that would suit it

“Shirts for the family's week at the lake, sun over the water”

“'Grow slow' with a little sprig, for the plant lover”

“Totes for our book club, with an open book”

Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.
Where it is printed, and when it arrives
It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, then shipped: 5–15 business days to Canada ($13.28 CAD for the first item) and 2–5 business days to the US ($6.78 CAD). Each window counts from the day the order is placed and includes printing.
Printed in North America, so it ships without an overseas leg and no import duties apply within North America.
To arrive by Christmas 2026 with standard shipping, order by December 4 for Canada and December 18 for the US — that is the Defender 5 Backpack's own longest window counted back from December 25.

Looking after it
- Spot clean where you can; a cap or beanie keeps its shape best out of the machine.
- If you must wash it, cold and by hand, then reshape and air dry.
- Do not iron over the stitches.
Before you order
How long does the Defender 5 Backpack take to arrive?
To Canada, 5–15 business days, with first-item shipping at $13.28 CAD; to the US, 2–5 business days ($6.78 CAD). It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Defender 5 Backpack?
No. Thread cannot reproduce a photograph or a gradient. A photo can be simplified into a bold outline or silhouette, which embroiders well. The print file is 1181 × 1181 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
What colours does the Defender 5 Backpack come in?
4 colours: Team Navy Blue/ White, Team Power Red / White, Team Royal Blue / White, Twill Onix Grey / Black.
When should I order the Defender 5 Backpack for Christmas?
With standard shipping, by December 4 to Canada and December 18 to the US. Those dates count this product's longest delivery window back from December 25 in business days. Express shipping at checkout, where it is offered, shortens the window.
How do I look after the Defender 5 Backpack?
It is embroidered, and that sets the care. Spot clean where you can; a cap or beanie keeps its shape best out of the machine. If you must wash it, cold and by hand, then reshape and air dry. Do not iron over the stitches.
